Insider Tips
- 1
Hard Rock Stadium is in Miami Gardens, NOT Miami Beach. It's 30+ min from South Beach. Don't make this mistake.
- 2
Public transit to the stadium is almost non-existent. Plan for Uber/Lyft or driving. Surge pricing will be insane.
- 3
June/July is rainy season - afternoon thunderstorms are daily. They usually pass in 30-60 min.
- 4
Little Havana is a must for Latin American fans. Calle Ocho is the main strip. Play dominoes with the viejitos.
- 5
Messi plays for Inter Miami - expect Argentine fans EVERYWHERE. Buenos Aires South.
- 6
Miami is expensive. Like, really expensive. Budget more than you think.

Fan FAQs
How do I get to Hard Rock Stadium?
No good public transit option. Uber/Lyft from South Beach is $40-60 (more with surge). Driving is easier if you can. Parking at stadium is $40+.
Is Miami Beach walking distance to the stadium?
No! Not even close. Hard Rock is in Miami Gardens, 30-45 min from South Beach by car. Do NOT book a hotel thinking they're close.
Will it rain during matches?
Probably. June/July has daily afternoon storms. They usually pass quickly. The stadium has a canopy for shade/some rain protection.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Helpful but not required. Miami is ~70% Hispanic/Latino. Most service workers are bilingual. You'll hear more Spanish than English in Little Havana.
Budget Tips
- Stay in Wynwood or Little Havana instead of South Beach - half the price, more character
- Cuban food is cheap and incredible - skip expensive restaurants
- Free beaches! South Beach is free (chairs/umbrellas cost). Crandon Park on Key Biscayne is less crowded.
- Happy hour is 4-7pm everywhere - half price drinks and apps
- Skip the clubs unless you want to spend $50+ on cover and $20 drinks
Hidden Gems
- Vizcaya Museum - Italian Renaissance villa on the bay. Stunning gardens. Like stepping into Europe.
- Coral Castle - weird sculpture garden built by one guy. "Florida's Stonehenge."
- Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park - best beach that's NOT South Beach. Historic lighthouse.
- The Underline - elevated park under the Metrorail. Miami's version of High Line. Still being built but cool.

Insider tips from the fans who know Miami best
La Familia Inter Miami
@lafamilia_intermiaInter Miami Supporters Group
“Forget Hard Rock for the real experience - watch the match at a bar in Little Havana then hit Calle Ocho afterward. The celebrations in the street after Argentina won the World Cup? That energy is still here.”
Sophia Huerta

“Miami is the only US city where you can truly experience what it feels like to be a minority as an American fan. When Mexico plays here, it's 80% green. Embrace it - the energy is incredible.”
Cuban Pete

“If Cuba plays in Miami (unlikely but let's dream), Hialeah will shut down. Versailles Restaurant on Calle Ocho is where the older Cubans gather - the cafecito and political debates are free entertainment.”
Ashley Maccagnan
@ashley_maccagnanSports Travel Vlogger
“Miami Beach is NOT where you watch the match unless you want to pay $30 for a beer. Wynwood has way better sports bars at half the price and the murals make a great pre-game photo backdrop.”
