Insider Tips

  • 1

Mercedes-Benz Stadium has the CHEAPEST concessions in American sports. $2 hot dogs, $3 pretzels, $5 beers. Not a typo.

  • 2

The MARTA train goes directly to the stadium (Dome/GWCC station). No reason to drive or Uber.

  • 3

Atlanta traffic is BRUTAL. If you rent a car, use it for day trips only, not game day.

  • 4

The retractable roof almost always stays closed in summer for AC. You'll be comfortable inside.

  • 5

Terminus Legion (supporter group) marches from The Gulch before matches. Join them for the atmosphere.

  • 6

Atlanta United broke every MLS attendance record. This city is HUNGRY for soccer.

Fan FAQs

Is Atlanta hot in June/July?

Yes, 85-95Β°F and humid. But the stadium has AC and the roof will likely be closed. Stay hydrated outside.

Can I use public transit?

Yes! MARTA is clean and safe. Gold/Red/Blue/Green lines all connect to airport and downtown. Stadium station is Dome/GWCC.

Where should I stay?

Downtown or Midtown for walking distance. East Atlanta Village or Decatur for cheaper and more character.

Is Atlanta safe?

Tourist areas (Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead) are safe. Normal city awareness applies. MARTA is fine.

Budget Tips
