Insider Tips
- 1
Skip the Pat's vs Geno's tourist trap. Locals go to John's Roast Pork or Dalessandro's.
- 2
The Broad Street Line (subway) literally stops AT the stadium. Best transit setup of any US World Cup venue.
- 3
Philly fans have a reputation - we're passionate, not mean. Talk trash with us, we'll respect you.
- 4
Reading Terminal Market closes at 6pm. Go for lunch, not dinner.
- 5
South Philly is walking distance from the stadium. Stay there for authentic experience.
- 6
The Italian Market on 9th Street is the real deal - not a tourist market. Best produce and cheese.

Fan FAQs
Is the stadium easy to get to?
Yes! The Broad Street Line (orange subway) stops right at NRG Station. 15 min from Center City. Best stadium access in the US.
What's the deal with Philly fans being aggressive?
We're passionate and will give you a hard time - but it's good-natured. Talk back and we'll buy you a beer. Just don't disrespect our city.
Pat's or Geno's?
Neither if you want the best cheesesteak. That's for tourists. But if you must, Pat's is the original (1930). Get one from each and decide.
Is Philly safe?
Center City, Old City, and the stadium area are very safe. Like any city, stay aware at night in less-trafficked areas.

El Parcero Philly
@elparcerophillyColombian Soccer Community Leader
βNorth Philly has an incredible Colombian community that most tourists never see. For Colombia matches, hit up El Azteca Restaurant in Hunting Park - 200+ Colombians going absolutely wild. Better atmosphere than most stadiums.β
Bryn Mawr Beth

βDon't sleep on Subaru Park in Chester for atmosphere. It's 20 min from Center City and the Sons of Ben section is family-friendly. My 8-year-old knows all the chants. Much cheaper than World Cup tickets too.β
Darius Thompson

βThe Sports Complex area transforms on game day. I'm talking Eagles tailgate energy but for soccer. Park at the Wells Fargo lot for $20, bring a grill, and walk to the Linc. The vibe is unmatched in American soccer.β
Coach Diana Reyes
@coach_diana_phillyYouth Soccer Coach
βReading Terminal Market is perfect pre-game - grab a cheesesteak from Carmen's (not Pat's or Geno's, those are tourist traps), then walk to the stadium. Only 20 minutes on foot through some beautiful parts of the city.β
