Fan FAQs
How multicultural is Toronto really?
Over 50% of residents were born outside Canada. 200+ ethnic groups. You can find authentic food from basically any country. Little Italy, Greektown, Chinatown, Little India, Koreatown - they're all real neighborhoods.
Is the stadium downtown?
Yes! BMO Field is at Exhibition Place, right on the waterfront. You can walk from many downtown hotels. Streetcar runs directly there.
Should I go to Niagara Falls?
If you have a day, yes. It's 90 minutes by car, 2+ hours by bus. Stay on the Canadian side - way better views than the US side. The touristy stuff is cheesy but the falls themselves are incredible.
Do I need to tip in Canada?
Yes. Same as the US - 15-20% at restaurants, $1-2 per drink at bars. Tax (13% HST) is added to the bill, not included in prices.
What's the weather like?
June/July are gorgeous. 75-85Β°F, occasional humidity, sometimes afternoon thunderstorms. Much more pleasant than winter (don't ask about winter).
